Embedded Software Engineering Manager (Embedded Systems)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of two days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Lead embedded software development teams of approximately 10–15 people.
• Define and execute the AOS-CX Switch OS roadmap across infrastructure, platform software, networking, security protocols, user interfaces, and cloud management enablement.
• Coordinate delivery with product management, technical marketing, customer support, hardware, ASIC, and supply chain teams.
• Manage headcount, resources, schedules, costs, risks, deliverables, and program objectives across multiple projects.
• Communicate project status and escalate issues to managers, program leaders, and development partners.
• Hire, coach, evaluate, and support the career development of team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field, with 10+ years of total experience and 3+ years of people management experience.
• Development experience in networking, embedded systems, C/C++, Python, and embedded Linux or RTOS.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, Ethernet chipsets, MAC/PHY, and device drivers.
• Experience with project planning, scheduling, risk management, analytical problem-solving, and technical communication.
• Leadership experience including coaching, team building, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ARM processor architectures and SAFe or other agile development methods.
• Experience with U-Boot bootloaders, board bring-up, diagnostics, JTAG tools, and GDB-based low-level debugging.
