What you will do
- Define and lead the embedded systems platform strategy across IC development, validation, qualification, and applications support.
- Establish architecture standards and reusable hardware, firmware, scripts, and documentation for emulation and validation.
- Architect bench-level test systems for functional, parametric, and closed-loop validation of digital power controllers.
- Implement and validate digital control loops, correlate behavioral models with measured IC performance, and resolve model-to-silicon discrepancies.
- Support pre-silicon design reviews and silicon bring-up through testability planning, electrical characterization, automation, and commissioning procedures.
- Partner with applications and product engineering to reproduce issues, debug in the lab, and harden platforms for reuse across programs.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded systems, power electronics, or mixed-signal IC validation, with progression to staff-level scope.
- Hands-on experience with digital control-loop implementation, including compensation design, z-domain analysis, Type II/III, or state-space approaches.
- FPGA-based emulation or prototyping experience with VHDL or Verilog at the RTL or integration level.
- Strong instrumentation skills with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power analyzers, and electronic loads.
- Bench automation experience using Python and SCPI, plus familiarity with buck, boost, LLC, and PSFB converter topologies and small-signal modeling.
Nice to have
- Experience with PMBus, AVSBus, or I2C/SPI digital power management protocols.
- Mixed-signal IC characterization, product engineering, or semiconductor applications experience.
- Proficiency with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python control libraries.
