AI Scientist (Biometrics)

Location: Austin, Texas, US, or Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, US. Applicants must be legally authorized to reside and work in the US; remote work outside the hiring country is not considered.

What you will do

• Design, train, evaluate, and optimize AI and deep learning models for biometric applications.
• Develop image processing, video analytics, biometric signal processing, feature extraction, and model evaluation pipelines.
• Define data collection tools, datasets, annotation workflows, and benchmarking processes.
• Apply data engineering, data quality, and data governance practices across the AI lifecycle.
• Support deployment and continuous improvement of biometric AI solutions in production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, innovation, and business stakeholders on AI and biometric product development.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 0–4 years of industry, research, or postdoctoral experience.
• Experience with Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, OpenCV, NumPy, Pandas, and Jupyter.
• Knowledge of CNNs, Vision Transformers, attention networks, image processing, video analytics, object detection, feature extraction, and image quality assessment.
• Familiarity with face recognition, face matching, presentation attack detection, liveness detection, identity verification, and biometric recognition systems.
• Applicants must be currently and legally authorized to reside and work in the US; immigration sponsorship and international relocation are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with face, fingerprint, iris, or palm recognition modalities.
• Exposure to RGB, NIR, IR, thermal, structured-light, ToF/3D depth, polarization, or multispectral imaging.
• Knowledge of biometric standards, compliance requirements, and benchmarking methodologies.
• Experience with MLOps, software engineering, data engineering, or responsible AI governance.
