HPC & AI Hardware - Engineering Resolution Engineer

Location: Bristol, United Kingdom; hybrid, with an average requirement to work 2 days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex hardware issues across HPC and AI environments.
• Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions, workarounds, and permanent solutions.
• Analyse system hardware, interconnect, and infrastructure problems across HPE and third-party platforms.
• Support customers throughout the service-issue lifecycle and maintain detailed case documentation.
• Coordinate escalations with engineering, development, manufacturing, R&D, and global support teams.
• Provide remote troubleshooting, on-site repair coordination, rotating 24x7 on-call coverage, and occasional customer-site travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Typically 5–8 years of relevant experience in HPC, AI, enterprise technology, or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Unix operating systems, hardware and software maintenance, diagnostics, and debugging tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in customer data centre environments, handle equipment over 50 lb (23 kg), and work safely around high-voltage infrastructure.

Nice to have

• Experience with mechanical systems, electrical systems, air and liquid cooling, or water chemistry.
• Experience with HPC infrastructure, enterprise servers, storage, and networking environments.
