Head of Digital Delivery (AI)

What you will do

• Build and execute the growth strategy for a new Digital Delivery department, including team structures, headcount planning, budgets, KPIs, and operating frameworks.
• Partner with the Engineering Director to create a measurable digital delivery roadmap aligned with engineering and business goals.
• Lead BIM implementation, QA/QC workflows, clash detection, Common Data Environment governance, metadata standards, COBie asset data drops, and information security.
• Deploy reality capture workflows using laser scanning, point clouds, and UAV topology mapping across design and asset verification activities.
• Develop AI automation and computational design tools for underground cabling, overhead lines, and substation engineering using Dynamo, Python, and proprietary AI models.
• Lead digital and BIM strategies for bids, client presentations, technical publications, conferences, and industry relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or civil engineering, construction management, or an accredited digital infrastructure discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience overseeing complex BIM frameworks across diverse teams.
• Expert proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Synchro, Dynamo, Fuzor, Power BI, and BIM 360/ACC.
• At least 5 years of experience in the UK Transmission and Distribution industry, including NGET/SSE standards, site requirements, substations, and linear assets.
• Experience building a team, department, or strategic initiative from the ground up, including headcount planning and budget management.
• Demonstrable experience applying computational design, scripting, or AI automation to engineering workflows, plus strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Chartered Engineer status through an institution such as IET or ICE.
• Experience with software vendor negotiations, Capex/Opex technology strategies, and intellectual property asset creation.
