Lab Assistant - Chemistry

Location: Raritan, New Jersey, United States. Work onsite from Monday to Friday and alternating Saturdays, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; overtime or other shifts may be required.

Salary: $17.75–$20 per hour plus shift differential.

What you will do

• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical laboratory specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and enter specimen and patient information accurately.
• Check laboratory equipment, perform minor instrumentation maintenance, and replenish test bench supplies.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and complete required records and administrative tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following standard operating procedures and quality requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens and accurately identifying specimens.
• Basic computer knowledge and data-entry skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, prioritize tasks, and multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to meet established turnaround times, communicate effectively, and handle the physical requirements of the position.
• Ability to pass a standardized color-blindness test and work the required overnight schedule.

Nice to have

• At least 3 months of specimen-processing experience.
• At least 3 months of medical or laboratory experience.
