Deputy Head of Communication Management (EU Communications)

Location: Brussels, Belgium. Candidates must have the legal right to work in Belgium or qualify for case-by-case sponsorship and be physically located in Belgium by the first day of employment.

What you will do

• Support the Head of Communication Management in delivering large-scale EU communication projects and 360° communication campaigns.
• Lead coaching, onboarding, capability development, workforce planning, and performance support for the Communication Management Team.
• Monitor strategic, complex, and high-visibility projects, ensuring quality standards, timely issue resolution, and client satisfaction.
• Oversee project budgets, forecasts, cost control, profitability, and financial KPI reporting with business and finance stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Account Directors and service leads to strengthen client relationships, expand services, and identify growth opportunities.
• Improve project management methodologies and facilitate collaboration across strategy, creative, communications, and expert teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in EU communications, public affairs, strategic communications, campaign management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience managing large-scale EU-funded communication projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering integrated campaigns covering digital communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, events, and content development.
• Strong project financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, profitability monitoring, and KPI reporting.
• Master’s degree or equivalent in communications, public relations, political science, European studies, business administration, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline.
• Legal right to work in Belgium or eligibility for case-by-case sponsorship, with physical presence in Belgium by the start date.
