External Affairs, Brussels (AI Policy)

Location: Brussels, Belgium; hybrid role with staff expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time. Requires travel within EMEA once or twice per quarter and occasional travel to the United States.

What you will do

• Support engagement with the EU Commission, Parliament, relevant agencies, and public-sector partners on AI policy and regulatory issues affecting frontier AI labs.
• Build relationships with policymakers, think tanks, academia, regulators, and other stakeholders through briefings, consultations, demonstrations, and roundtables.
• Analyze policy proposals and map the EU policy landscape to inform policy positions.
• Draft submissions for public comments and consultations.
• Plan events and develop strategic campaigns that strengthen policy engagement.
• Partner with the EMEA go-to-market team to support commercial efforts when appropriate.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of the EU digital regulatory landscape, including EU AI and data policy.
• Professional experience working on EU digital policy and effective advocacy with EU governments and regulatory authorities.
• Ability to explain complex technical and regulatory topics clearly and connect them to debates about AI and society.
• Experience with event planning and stakeholder management, supported by strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to identify EU priorities aligned with organizational goals.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or relevant experience.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of professional experience in EU digital policy.
• Experience within EU institutions or the Brussels policy ecosystem.
• Experience designing and executing complex policy campaigns that influence legislative action.
• Interest in translating EU AI and data policy into global standards for AI safety and security.
