Director, Environmental Planning

Location: U.S. Remote, with a preference for candidates located in Florida; periodic short-term travel may be required.

Salary: $130,631–$222,072 per year.

What you will do

• Lead business development and client relationship building in environmental services, energy, and water, with an emphasis on Florida.
• Develop technical and cost proposals and identify, position, and capture new project opportunities.
• Lead project teams and subconsultants through strategy development, agency coordination, and deliverable preparation.
• Oversee client communication, budgets, invoicing, schedules, staffing, technical approaches, and subcontractor involvement.
• Guide regulatory and natural resource agency consultation under NEPA, the Clean Water Act, and related regulations.
• Review technical reports, public environmental documents, presentations, and other work products for quality and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, biology, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience with environmental, energy, and/or natural resource projects.
• Proven experience leading business development, preparing technical and cost proposals, and winning project work.
• Established network of private- and public-sector clients and regulatory agencies.
• Strong understanding of environmental services markets and the ability to lead project execution.
• Ability to mentor staff and collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and teaming partners.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in environmental science, environmental policy, biology, or a related discipline.
• Experience growing and executing projects in Florida.
• Detailed experience with NEPA, the Clean Water Act, ESA, agency consultation, and assessment of project effects.
