Yard Operations Team Leader (Vehicle Auctions)

Location: Onsite in Canvey Island, Essex, United Kingdom. Day shift, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00. The role requires the right to work in the United Kingdom and is subject to satisfactory DBS and right-to-work checks.

Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per year, dependent on experience.

What you will do

• Lead daily yard operations, including vehicle flow, loading and unloading transporters, housekeeping, and site checks.
• Manage and support yard employees, including performance, leave, sickness, training, mentoring, recruitment, and development.
• Maintain health and safety standards, personal protective equipment, site security, maintenance, alarms, and equipment readiness.
• Provide customer and supplier support, resolve operational issues, and attend site call-outs when required.
• Manage fuel, oil, stationery requests, site banking, incident and accident reports, and site documentation.
• Work with the environmental agency and support continued ISO 27001 registration.

Requirements

• Ability to lead a team and maximise performance.
• Full driving licence.
• Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom and satisfactory DBS check required.

Nice to have

• Rough-terrain forklift truck licence.
• Mechanical, metal recycling, or vehicle maintenance qualification.
