Manager, Software Engineering (E-commerce)

Location: Westchester, Illinois, United States. Candidates near the Chicago, Fort Worth, Burnaby, or Mississauga headquarters may work in a hybrid setup.

Salary: $142,530–$178,110 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, retain, and enable software and QA engineers.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of e-commerce platform features.
• Partner with Staff Engineers and Product Management on solution design, delivery schedules, and lean backlogs.
• Improve workflows, tools, and value streams through lean development practices.
• Assess team capabilities, set goals, provide feedback, and allocate resources against business priorities.
• Promote resilient, self-healing, stable, and highly observable software systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and technologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional software development through requirements, design, development, testing, and release.
• Hands-on experience with agile and lean development methodologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, microservices, event-based architecture, Kubernetes, and Istio.
• Must be legally entitled to work in the United States.
