Senior Counsel, Government Affairs

Location: Hybrid, based out of the Westchester, Illinois corporate headquarters; three days per week in the office. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States.

Salary: $125,530–$156,920 per year

What you will do

• Monitor and analyze legislative bills and proposed regulations across all 50 states and at the federal level.
• Develop legislative strategy with the VP of Legal and manage external lobbyist relationships.
• Draft formal comments, statutory language, bill amendments, lobbying disclosures, and legislative updates.
• Prepare written testimony and coordinate testimony before legislative committees.
• Advocate for alternative title processes, E-Signature adoption, and E-Titling legislation.
• Lead cross-functional implementation of new laws and regulations and provide legal research on titling, licensing, buyer registration, and compliance matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7+ years of legal experience focused on government affairs, regulatory compliance, or legislative advocacy.
• Deep knowledge of state and federal legislative processes, lobbying regulations, and vehicle titling and DMV regulatory frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and judgment skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment three days per week from the Westchester, Illinois headquarters.
• Familiarity with E-Signature and E-Titling legislative initiatives.

• Experience in automotive remarketing, salvage, or insurance.
