Legal Counsel (Financial Services)

Location: Chicago, United States

Base salary: $170,000–$230,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Provide in-house corporate legal support for a multi-entity international proprietary trading organization.
• Review, draft, and negotiate intracompany agreements covering services, cost allocations, transactions, credit, and resource sharing.
• Advise on corporate law, organizational structure, entity formation, corporate transactions, and intracompany dealings.
• Support Finance with tax implications related to entity structures and business activities.
• Prepare legal memoranda on corporate, tax, transactional, and organizational matters.
• Review, draft, and negotiate vendor, trading, technology, consulting, NDA, lease, and other commercial agreements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and top academic credentials.
• Membership in good standing of the Illinois bar required.
• Five years of in-house experience focused on corporate law, entity structures, cost allocations or transfer pricing, and related tax matters.
• Experience in financial services, trading, or technology is preferred.
• Strong research, drafting, communication, business judgment, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and collaborate across diverse teams.
