Program Manager, Public Sector Energy Efficiency

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; candidates must be in California and located in or willing to relocate to the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Up to 20% local travel within Southern California is required, with a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.

Salary: $89,261–$151,744 per year.

What you will do

• Monitor and support the delivery of public sector energy efficiency programs across operations, client support, and stakeholder management.
• Build relationships with building owners, property managers, developers, customers, and community stakeholders.
• Manage subcontractors, program milestones, schedules, deliverables, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate cross-functional regional and national teams, program budgets, forecasts, and performance reporting.
• Collaborate with clients and portfolio stakeholders to meet program objectives and develop solutions to delivery problems.
• Analyze market trends and technologies to improve program deployment, energy savings, housing efficiency, and grid stability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in energy, sustainability, public policy, business, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience in energy efficiency, utility programs, public sector work, or a related area.
• Must be based in California and located in or willing to relocate to the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check required.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, management, and partnership-building skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Nice to have

• Experience with public sector energy efficiency and demand-side management programs.
• Knowledge of building science, energy resources, energy policy, consulting, or business management.
• Industry certifications such as BPI, PMP, or CEM.
• Professional affiliations with AESP, ACEEE, ASHRAE, or AEE.
