Salary: $108,006–$183,610 per year for full-time employment

What you will do
- Manage large, complex environmental planning, compliance, and infrastructure projects, with a focus on water and related programs.
- Lead federal, state, and local permitting and compliance under CEQA, NEPA, and other environmental regulations.
- Prepare and review CEQA and NEPA documentation, regulatory strategies, mitigation plans, and environmental risk assessments.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams covering biological, cultural, air quality, noise, hydrology, transportation, land use, and related studies.
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and risks while serving as a trusted advisor to public and private clients.
- Develop client relationships, support proposals and business development, and mentor environmental professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental studies, environmental science, biology, geography, public policy, urban planning, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in environmental planning, compliance, permitting, and project delivery.
- Experience managing complex CEQA and NEPA projects.
- Experience with environmental laws, permitting processes, agency coordination, project management, and multidisciplinary delivery.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid or remote arrangement within California.
- Client management and business development experience is required for the role.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Experience with water resources, flood risk management, ecosystem restoration, wastewater, rail, transportation, energy, or other major infrastructure programs.
- Experience serving as a Program Manager or Project Director on large, multi-year programs.
- Existing relationships with California public agencies and infrastructure clients.
- Experience supervising and developing staff.
