Senior Cost Manager (Cost Management/Quantity Surveying)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week required on the client site in Frederick, Maryland or Gaithersburg, Maryland; other listed locations include Washington, DC

Salary: $108,000–$145,000+ USD per year, depending on experience, education, and skillset.

What you will do

• Manage tender and bid processes from documentation through analysis and reporting.
• Create estimates, cost plans, valuations, and cost reports for client developments.
• Manage changes affecting project costs, including identification, analysis, approval, and implementation.
• Prepare and agree final accounts and support the handling of claims and construction disputes.
• Communicate cost variations clearly and support timely project decisions.
• Mentor employees and foster performance and professional growth.

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior Cost Manager, ideally within a consultancy.
• Experience in pre-contract cost management, budget control, cost planning, and change forms.
• Knowledge of alternative construction materials and construction cost processes.
• Chartered status or progress toward chartership.
• Degree or comparable experience in project management or a construction discipline.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
