TL;DR
Head Start Grantee Specialist Service Area IV (Head Start/program management): Providing onsite and virtual training and technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start recipients, governing bodies, and program managers with an accent on compliance correction, quality improvement planning, and fiscal operations. Focus on developing Quality Improvement Plans, improving management systems, coordinating cross-functional assistance, and supporting corrective actions through onsite work.

Location: Home-based in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee; required travel to regional states, Washington, DC, and other locations as needed. Onsite and virtual work are required.

Salary: $67,355.00–$114,503.00 annually for full-time employment.

What you will do

  • Provide individualized, group, onsite, and virtual training and technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start recipients.
  • Support correction of noncompliance and deficiencies identified through the federal monitoring process.
  • Develop and implement Quality Improvement Plans addressing root causes of operational deficiencies.
  • Improve program oversight, governance, management systems, and fiscal operations.
  • Coordinate assistance with Early Childhood, Family Engagement, Health, and Systems Specialists.
  • Deliver presentations and training while communicating progress to Service Area Office staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 5 years of experience in program or organizational management, fiscal operations, or comprehensive management systems within Head Start or Early Head Start programs.
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting recipients, governing bodies, management teams, and program staff.
  • At least 1 year of experience addressing compliance issues and providing written and oral technical assistance.
  • Experience with computer software systems and virtual platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.

Nice to have

  • Head Start expertise in Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance.
  • Experience analyzing data and supporting data-informed decisions.
  • Fiscal expertise in budgeting, multiple funding sources, uniform guidance regulations, Head Start audits, and governing body fiscal responsibilities.
