Metrologist (Quality Lab)

Location: Waxahachie, Texas, United States; onsite work in a manufacturing plant, quality laboratory, production floor, and inspection room

What you will do

• Inspect and test raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products against quality standards.
• Operate precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and optical systems.
• Record and analyze test data while maintaining inspection reports, quality documentation, and test records.
• Identify nonconforming materials and communicate findings to production and quality teams.
• Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, first article inspections, capability studies, audits, and compliance activities.
• Maintain calibration and equipment records and follow quality, safety, and work instructions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; a technical degree is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
• Familiarity with SPC, PFMEA, control plans, root cause analysis, and 8D problem solving.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Excel, ERP/MES systems, and quality software.
• Ability to work onsite, stand for extended periods, occasionally lift 25–50 pounds, and perform detailed inspections requiring good vision and manual dexterity.

Nice to have

• Experience in industrial manufacturing, quality inspection, or laboratory testing.
• Experience with CMM software or vision systems.
• Understanding of metrology and calibration practices.
