Location: Home-based in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee; travel is required to regional states, Washington, DC, and other locations as needed.

Salary: $67,355–$114,503 annually.

What you will do

  • Provide onsite and virtual training and technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start recipients, governing bodies, directors, and program managers.
  • Support correction of deficiencies and non-compliance identified through the federal monitoring process, including onsite assignments lasting from one day to several weeks.
  • Develop and implement Quality Improvement Plans addressing root causes of compliance and operational issues.
  • Improve governance, program management, and fiscal operations through individualized, group, and virtual consultation.
  • Coordinate management systems support with early childhood, family engagement, health, and systems specialists.
  • Develop presentations and training on program management, fiscal operations, and emerging Office of Head Start priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish proficiency required.
  • At least five years of experience in program or organizational management, fiscal operations, or comprehensive management systems within Head Start or Early Head Start programs.
  • Experience supporting recipients, governing bodies, management teams, and program staff with quality improvement, technical assistance, and compliance issues.
  • Experience with written and oral communication, computer software, and virtual platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check required.

Nice to have

  • Head Start expertise in Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance.
  • Experience analyzing data and supporting data-informed decisions.
  • Fiscal expertise in budgeting, multiple funding sources, uniform guidance regulations, Head Start audits, and governing body fiscal responsibilities.
