Residential Energy Efficiency Account Manager (Energy Efficiency)

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States; remote/home office with regular field engagement and travel across South Carolina.

Base salary: $70,000–$75,000 annually. Full pay range: $60,940–$103,598.

What you will do

• Train, onboard, and manage contractors participating in South Carolina’s HOMES and HEAR residential energy rebate programs.
• Explain program requirements, eligible measures, rebate pathways, documentation standards, customer eligibility, and quality expectations.
• Serve as the primary contractor relationship manager, resolve issues, and coordinate communications, training sessions, webinars, and office hours.
• Monitor contractor performance, application quality, participation trends, and adherence to program processes.
• Provide field support through site visits, installation follow-up, inspection coordination, and QA/QC oversight.
• Review project documentation, track corrective actions, prepare reports, and recommend improvements to program delivery.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 4+ years of related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of related experience.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting energy efficiency, residential electrification, utility rebate, contractor management, or related programs.
• Experience with quality assurance, quality control, inspection coordination, or compliance reviews in energy efficiency, construction, contractor, or rebate programs.
• Professional communication experience with contractors, trade allies, customers, or program partners.
• Ability to travel within South Carolina for meetings, trainings, field support, and program activities.

Nice to have

• Experience with HOMES, HEAR, weatherization, home performance, electrification, or residential energy efficiency programs.
• Knowledge of heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, insulation, air sealing, electrical panel upgrades, and related home energy improvements.
• Experience delivering contractor training, webinars, office hours, or technical assistance.
• Knowledge of rebate workflows, compliance requirements, QA/QC processes, inspection protocols, corrective action tracking, and customer eligibility documentation.
• BPI, RESNET, HERS, building science, HVAC, or related energy efficiency credentials.
