Quality Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Supervise plant quality functions and coordinate APQP activities, meetings, and tooling progress reviews.
• Create, implement, and maintain control plans, work and inspection instructions, procedures, visual aids, and samples.
• Prepare PPAP sample submissions and supervise PPAP sample retention.
• Support IATF 16949 certification and compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.
• Investigate supplier, internal, and customer quality problems and coordinate corrective actions.
• Develop and implement 8-D corrective actions with manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers, then verify their effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
• Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific automotive requirements.
• Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methods, including 8-D, 5 Why, and Fishbone.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T, with strong cross-functional communication skills.
