Staff IC Foundry Engineer (Semiconductors)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; the position will be filled near the Vishay offices in San Jose.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve silicon yield, reliability, and process-related issues across IC product lines.
• Act as the primary technical interface with semiconductor foundries on process performance, yield excursions, and manufacturing improvements.
• Develop expertise in foundry process technologies, especially BCD processes and device characteristics.
• Design, execute, and analyze Design of Experiments to identify root causes, optimize process windows, and improve yield and product performance.
• Analyze wafer fabrication, parametric, electrical test, and yield data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with design, product, test, reliability, and foundry engineering teams to evaluate process changes and drive quality, efficiency, and cost improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, power electronics, materials science, physics engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and IC fabrication technologies.
• Experience with BCD processes, including device structures, process integration, and yield mechanisms.
• Experience investigating yield excursions, performing root-cause analysis, and designing and analyzing DOE experiments.
• Proficiency in statistical data analysis and data mining tools, with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into process improvements.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
