Senior Manager, Pharmacy Cleanroom (Oncology Pharmacy): Leading pharmacy operations and sterile and non-sterile compounding services in a hospital environment with an accent on regulatory compliance, oncology therapeutics, quality assurance, and patient safety. Focus on managing compounding workflows, developing pharmacy staff, implementing USP and USP standards, and driving operational improvements across multidisciplinary teams.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; onsite with occasional remote work

Salary: $188,400–$200,900 per year

What you will do

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with regulations, institutional policies, and SOPs.
  • Lead sterile and non-sterile compounding operations in accordance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
  • Manage, mentor, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate pharmacy staff.
  • Develop quality assurance, quality control, pharmacy policies, SOPs, protocols, guidelines, and order sets.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, research, nursing, regulatory compliance, quality, and safety teams to optimize medication management and patient safety.
  • Monitor pharmacy metrics, budgets, resource allocation, strategic goals, technology implementations, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 7 years of pharmacy or related experience, including 5 years in oncology or a related specialty.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or another applicable state.
  • Knowledge of medication management, oncology therapeutics, regulatory compliance, project management, and healthcare IT applications such as Epic Beacon/Willow and pharmacy information systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, and change-management skills.

Nice to have

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Residency or fellowship training.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy or a related board certification or advanced training.
