TL;DR
Compounding Pharmacist (Pharmacy): Supervising medication compounding operations in an Arizona laboratory with an accent on quality control, regulatory compliance, hazardous-drug safety, and technician oversight. Focus on verifying formulas and finished preparations, developing SOPs and training materials, coordinating equipment and audits, and maintaining compliance with USP, state, and federal pharmacy requirements.

Location: Arizona, United States; onsite work in a compounding laboratory. A relocation allowance is available for qualified candidates who already hold an active Arizona Pharmacist license. Shift hours are 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

What you will do

  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and other compounding support personnel.
  • Perform, document, and verify non-sterile compounding procedures, formula records, beyond-use dates, quality checks, and finished preparations.
  • Coordinate equipment calibration, maintenance, compounding activities, and environmental monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, training materials, quality initiatives, audits, and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Perform pharmacist duties including dispensing, patient counseling, drug utilization reviews, error documentation, and order verification.
  • Coordinate personnel, compliance, and regulatory matters with the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

Requirements

  • Active Arizona Pharmacist license required.
  • Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy.
  • Non-sterile compounding experience and knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
  • Knowledge of USP <795>, USP <800>, other applicable USP chapters, and hazardous-drug handling practices.
  • English proficiency required, along with proficiency in Windows-based computer systems.
  • Ability to work onsite for prolonged periods, stand and walk extensively, lift up to 50 pounds, wear required PPE, and pass respirator fit testing and medical approval requirements.

Nice to have

  • Mail service or mail-order pharmacy experience.
  • Multi-state pharmacist licensure.
