Field Service Floater (Medical Devices)

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States; based in St. Louis, Missouri, with support for repair locations throughout the United States. Working model: Remote with in-person work at customer sites and up to 75% travel. Relocation is not available.

Pay range: $28.58–$42.88 per hour.

What you will do

• Repair and refurbish surgical instruments at central repair facilities, mobile units, and customer locations.
• Perform quality-control inspections and meet repair, productivity, and service standards.
• Represent Aesculap professionally with hospital staff and serve as a technical contact for assigned accounts.
• Document repairs, billing information, service records, work instructions, and customer feedback.
• Provide training and status updates to permanent repair technicians.
• Coordinate schedules, recommend process improvements, and comply with ISO, FDA, and company quality requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in surgical instrumentation repair, refurbishment, or service.
• Knowledge of machine operation and fabrication involving various metal materials.
• Experience with grinding, buffing, sandblasting, polishing, filing, soldering, welding, and brazing.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to travel up to 75% and work in repair facilities, mobile environments, and customer healthcare locations.

Nice to have

• Trade school certification, an associate degree, or related technical training.
• Completion of the Aesculap Basic Repair Training Program.
• Field service, mobile repair, or customer-facing technical support experience.
• CAD, technical drawing, measurement-system, fixture-design, or healthcare repair experience.
