Field Service Engineer, Western (Goodyear, AZ)

Location: Remote and field based within the Goodyear, Arizona area; candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate there. The role covers the Western region and requires significant domestic and possible international travel.

Salary: $33.00–$35.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and analysis of SMA utility inverters in the field.
• Perform service activities through email, telephone support, and customer site visits.
• Develop detailed knowledge of SMA utility inverters, accessories, software, and firmware.
• Perform and maintain scheduled maintenance activities under customer service contracts.
• Maintain accurate inventories of spare parts and help reduce field-service costs while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and field-service equipment in variable weather conditions.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, OPT, CPT, and TN sponsorship. Temporary or visa-tied employment authorization is not accepted.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is strongly preferred, or equivalent renewables-industry experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications work.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to work nonstandard schedules and occasionally support customer contracts outside standard business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience in the renewable energy industry.
• Knowledge of solar or alternative energy markets.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
