Mechanical Engineer Development & Design (Medical Technology)

What you will do

• Assemble, test, and analyze early-stage microfluidic mechatronic valves, dosage systems, and complete drug delivery implants in a cleanroom.
• Develop manufacturing processes, tools, and in-line tests to improve production reliability, efficiency, and product quality.
• Develop test equipment and procedures, conduct laboratory experiments, and document product performance and safety results.
• Draft and review part specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Define requirements for purchased components and work with suppliers.
• Perform verification testing and support design transfer into serial production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, medical engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of relevant R&D or cleanroom manufacturing experience, preferably with implantable medical devices.
• Experience designing mechanical parts with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Basic electronics knowledge and experience assembling and troubleshooting early-stage products.
• English and German language skills, with at least B2 proficiency in either language.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, hands-on ability, and first-principles problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of medical technology regulations, including MDR, FDA, and ISO 13485.
• Experience working with microscopic parts.
