Head of Product Design (AI)

Location: In-person at the NYC HQ in Union Square, New York City

Salary: $200,000–$325,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Set the vision, strategy, and quality bar for Product Design across hirify.global.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product design team.
• Build the structure, capabilities, systems, and culture of the design function.
• Partner with executive, Product, and Engineering teams on product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Guide complex product initiatives from early exploration through launch.
• Translate emerging AI capabilities into intuitive interaction models across text, image, audio, motion, and video.

Requirements

• Experience building, managing, and developing high-performing product design teams.
• Significant experience designing and shipping complex consumer products across mobile and desktop.
• Strong product judgment, design taste, systems thinking, and product critique skills.
• Ability to move between design strategy, people leadership, and detailed execution.
• Ability to create clarity in ambiguous environments and communicate design rationale effectively.
• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality craft and meaningful impact on shipped products.

Nice to have

• Experience designing AI-native products, creative tools, or video, audio, image, or motion products.
• Experience building or scaling a design function at an early-stage or rapidly growing company.
• A strong perspective on how people will interact and create with AI.
• Startup founder or early design leadership experience.
