Sr. Staff Cloud Resilience Architect (GCP)

Salary: $129,500–$186,100 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Advise distributed product engineering and enterprise teams on high-availability and redundancy strategies for SaaS applications.
• Design fast-failover cloud architectures primarily on Google Cloud Platform, with oversight of Azure and AWS workloads.
• Review and validate infrastructure implementations using Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Design resilient deployments for Google Kubernetes Engine workloads and virtual machines, including self-healing and redundancy mechanisms.
• Partner with DevOps, SRE, and Product Engineering teams on resilience engineering, chaos testing, and failover validation for tier-0 systems.
• Assess resilience across networks, databases, sessions, APIs, caching, messaging, and CI/CD infrastructure.

Requirements

• Deep practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially GKE, Compute Engine, and CloudSQL.
• Hands-on engineering experience deploying complex infrastructure and guiding implementation teams.
• Experience designing active-active or active-passive failover for high-volume, data-intensive SaaS applications.
• Strong knowledge of database clustering, replication, migration, and cloud-native database architectures.
• Excellent communication and consulting skills, including the ability to influence teams without direct reporting authority.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and resilient cloud architecture is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS and Azure.
• Knowledge of highly available network topologies, load balancing, DNS, firewalls, identity systems, and centralized logging or SIEM.
• Experience with session replication, session persistence, and failover routing in multi-region applications.
• Familiarity with resilience across API gateways, caching, messaging, and CI/CD systems.
