AWS Cloud Architect

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship required. Federal Public Trust clearance and agency suitability determination required.

Salary: $140,000–$165,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Design, document, deploy, and operate secure, scalable, and highly available AWS GovCloud architectures for public-facing federal websites.
• Define network topology, data flows, trust zones, system boundaries, disaster recovery, logging, monitoring, backup, and incident response capabilities.
• Implement AWS security controls using IAM, VPC, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, AWS Config, WAF, GuardDuty, and related services.
• Build reusable infrastructure-as-code modules and secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, vulnerability scanning, dependency scanning, secrets detection, and infrastructure security checks.
• Integrate Drupal 11 with React/Next.js, APIs, PostgreSQL, storage, caching, search, content delivery services, and Amazon Bedrock.
• Support federal ATO activities by producing security plans, architecture diagrams, control documentation, technical evidence, implementation plans, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance, including a High-Risk Public Trust determination.
• 7+ years of experience designing and implementing secure, available, public-facing cloud infrastructure with AWS managed services.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud or another regulated AWS environment, AWS security architecture, IAM, networking, encryption, logging, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience supporting federal ATO and security authorization processes, with working knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, risk management, and continuous monitoring.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or equivalent tools and experience operating secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with WAF, load balancing, API security, DDoS protection, ECS/Fargate or EKS, Amazon Bedrock, highly available systems, and disaster recovery.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying and integrating Drupal 11 in AWS, including decoupled Drupal with React/Next.js.
• Familiarity with Drupal JSON:API or GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, and S3-based media storage.
• AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Security Specialty certification.
