Senior Counsel, Litigation (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based at the corporate headquarters in Saint Petersburg, Florida, with office work required at least 3 days per week

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of litigation matters, primarily FINRA customer arbitrations, as well as federal and state court cases.
• Develop litigation strategies and prepare answers, complaints, discovery materials, motions, and other legal documents.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitration final hearings.
• Coordinate and manage outside counsel on significant litigation matters.
• Provide litigation-related legal advice and recommendations to internal clients, senior management, and hirify.global entities.
• Lead the work of others and support training, coaching, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree with excellent academic credentials.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a relevant litigation practice area; financial services experience is preferred.
• Admitted to the Florida Bar or willing to take the Florida Bar Exam shortly after starting employment.
• Advanced knowledge of laws and regulations affecting financial institutions and broker-dealers, including FINRA arbitration, federal courts, and state courts.
• Strong legal research, analysis, drafting, presentation, communication, and case management skills.
• Ability to manage a heavy and diverse caseload independently while collaborating with senior lawyers and internal stakeholders.
