Legal Inquiries Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States; hybrid

Salary: $70,600–$84,700 USD annual base salary

What you will do

• Own the subpoena and discovery process from intake through final production in compliance with internal procedures and applicable laws.
• Coordinate with internal teams and bank partners on bankruptcy notices, liens, levies, garnishments, and other legal notices.
• Track inquiry volume and status, prepare monthly reports, and analyze trends.
• Conduct legal research and support dispute and litigation responses.
• Develop, draft, and manage processes and policies that improve legal inquiry efficiency.
• Respond to ad-hoc data requests.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of paralegal experience or experience responding to legal inquiries.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. banking and banking products.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, independent judgment, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and communicate effectively with regulators, investigators, and external counsel.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience at a bank or fintech company.
• SQL experience.
• Data warehouse or data management experience.
• Experience with legal research tools such as PACER.
• Prior litigation experience.
