Senior Technologist (Clinical Laboratory)

Location: Onsite at Mount Hood Hospital in Gresham, Oregon, or listed locations in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, United States. Monday–Friday schedule with rotating weekends; evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

What you will do

• Perform routine and complex clinical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate specimen acceptability, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, and report accurate test results.
• Support quality assurance, quality control review, proficiency testing, corrective actions, and continuous process improvement.
• Maintain regulatory, accreditation, safety, preventive maintenance, and quality documentation standards.
• Support reagent and control evaluation, validations, competency assessments, and new procedure implementation.
• Mentor laboratory staff and provide technical guidance on complex testing and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least 4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and maintain quality and compliance standards.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test and work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Nice to have

• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience in blood bank.
• Experience with laboratory quality assurance, quality control, regulatory compliance, inspections, audits, or process improvement.
• Experience as a technical lead, senior technologist, or clinical laboratory subject matter expert.
