Focus on managing R&D portfolios, improving program processes and systems, coordinating technical discussions, and developing insights for programmatic decisions.

Location: Hybrid in Alexandria, Virginia, United States

Salary: $89,649–$152,404 per year

What you will do

  • Support technology, research and development, and programmatic activities for NSF science and engineering innovation programs.
  • Provide technical and program support to directors managing R&D portfolios and awardees.
  • Manage awardee milestones and prepare program briefings and technical reports for NSF leadership and interagency partners.
  • Coordinate technical meetings, conferences, stakeholder discussions, partnerships, and program concepts.
  • Support systems engineering and process improvement across the full life cycle of current and new programs.
  • Conduct data analysis, improve user experience, and lead task implementation when needed.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of research and development, research project management, and project management experience.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD degree.
  • Experience with project management, systems development and mapping, data analytics, and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of transition-to-practice processes and commercialization strategies.
  • Experience with innovation ecosystems, federal research funding agencies, and SETA programs.
  • Experience managing industry-university collaborations, technology transfer, senior leadership interactions, and technical reporting.
