Compliance Reporting & Data Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Remote within one of the listed U.S. states; candidates must be able to live and work full-time in an eligible state. Remote technical positions in Canada are limited to Ontario.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Translate regulatory and financial reporting requirements into report logic, data definitions, and validation procedures.
• Develop and maintain reports for state filings, market conduct examinations, audits, and other compliance obligations.
• Investigate reporting discrepancies and data anomalies, identify root causes, and coordinate remediation with Data Engineering, Finance, and Product.
• Build automated reporting processes, data-quality checks, reconciliations, alerts, and validation tests for reporting pipelines.
• Support reporting readiness for new products and state launches, including post-launch data validation.
• Maintain documentation and prepare supporting data for regulators, auditors, Finance, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, compliance reporting, insurance regulatory reporting, financial reporting, audit, or a similar analytical role.
• Working proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregation, completeness checks, duplicate detection, and reconciliation queries.
• Experience translating business or regulatory reporting requirements into structured data needs.
• Experience investigating data discrepancies, isolating root causes, and driving remediation to completion.
• Strong documentation, prioritization, accuracy, and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to live and work full-time in an eligible U.S. state; Ontario residency is required for remote technical positions in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience in property and casualty insurance.
• Familiarity with Looker, Databricks, Airflow, AWS tools, or JIRA.
• Accounting, finance, or audit experience.
• Experience developing automated data-quality checks, reconciliations, or reporting processes.
