Perception Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Primarily onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area; R&D is moving from Menlo Park to San Jose.

Salary: $110,000–$180,000 annually, with additional listed ranges up to $350,000.

A small stealth robotics company building highly autonomous 3D factories that combine hardware, software, perception, robot learning, simulation, rendering, and low-level compute.

What you will do

• Build perception systems for autonomous robotic manufacturing environments.
• Develop 3D and visual perception capabilities for complex real-world scenes.
• Address difficult sensor, lighting, occlusion, and environmental edge cases.
• Debug perception failures in deployed robotic systems.
• Work across perception, learning, sensors, hardware, simulation, and GPU performance.

Requirements

• Experience with perception for self-driving or other autonomous systems.
• Experience in 3D perception and computer vision.
• Understanding of how machine learning, sensors, and hardware interact.
• Experience debugging real-world perception failures in deployed systems.
• Willingness to work primarily onsite in the Bay Area.
