Senior Engineering Manager (C#/.NET, AWS)

Location: Manchester or London, UK; hybrid with 1–2 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Lead and support engineers through 1:1s, coaching, feedback, career development, and performance conversations.
• Build an inclusive, collaborative, and learning-focused engineering culture.
• Partner with Product and Design on discovery, roadmaps, prioritisation, technical trade-offs, and product direction.
• Guide system design, architecture, technical decisions, delivery planning, dependencies, risks, and engineering quality.
• Support automated testing, TDD, CI/CD, observability, production support, and operational ownership.
• Develop engineering capability, address technical debt, and strengthen technical leadership across teams.

Requirements

• Experience leading software engineering teams as an Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, or in a comparable people-leadership role.
• Strong experience in coaching, career development, feedback, and performance management.
• Technical depth across full-stack and cloud system design, architecture, engineering quality, and operations.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams on discovery, problem shaping, roadmaps, and customer or business outcomes.
• Understanding of automated testing, TDD, CI/CD, observability, production ownership, and sustainable technical investment.
• Available to start in November 2026 for the fixed-term maternity cover period.

Nice to have

• Experience with C#/.NET, Node.js, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, AWS, OpenSearch, Terraform, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
• Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, and hypothesis-led product development.
