Software Engineering Manager (Investment Growth)

Location: Hybrid, with up to 3 days remote working and 2 days per week at the Bristol office, United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional product engineering team delivering investment solutions for clients.
• Support the growth, learning, motivation, and development of Software Engineers.
• Drive technical delivery, continuous improvement, innovation, and high-quality engineering practices.
• Partner with technical and business leaders to understand processes, data flows, challenges, and opportunities, then design effective solutions.
• Recruit and shape a high-performing engineering team.
• Own the maintenance, support, security, and continuous improvement of the team’s services.

Requirements

• Strong technology leadership experience in complex organisations.
• Strong software engineering background with the ability to communicate architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with full-stack engineering best practices, including CI/CD and observability.
• Experience partnering with multiple business areas and collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholders.
• Experience managing delivery from discovery through launch with transparency and visibility.
• Working availability for a 37.5-hour flexible schedule and regular attendance at the Bristol office.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, ECS, Docker, Lambda, SQS, DocumentDB, or PHP.
