Intermediate DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote within Canada; Canadian-based candidates only. Preference is given to applicants legally authorized to work in Canada. Optional access to the downtown Toronto office and regular off-sites across North America.

Salary: $110,000–$120,000 CAD annually

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure using automation and infrastructure as code practices.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines that enable engineers to release with minimal friction and high confidence.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, reliability, security, and resource utilization.
• Participate in incident response, post-mortems, and root-cause analysis.
• Define and enforce service-level expectations, forecast capacity, and scale infrastructure efficiently.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to address scalability challenges and development lifecycle bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 4–6+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or a similar role, building highly available, scalable, and secure systems.
• Strong scripting and programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux environments, plus Docker and Kubernetes or similar technologies.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET, Angular, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, S3, SQS, Lambda, or GitHub Actions.
