DevOps Engineer (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: CAD 112,000–168,000

What you will do

• Design infrastructure and automated systems for distributed architectures.
• Build, manage, and improve CI/CD pipelines to increase reliability and delivery speed.
• Plan infrastructure capacity for a fast-growing SaaS platform and optimize efficiency and cost.
• Maintain highly available web and backend systems serving millions of users and thousands of requests per second.
• Build monitoring, alerting, infrastructure-as-code, and developer productivity tooling.
• Secure cloud and application infrastructure while collaborating with developers and platform engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of DevOps or software development experience.
• 3+ years building, maintaining, and scaling PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or DynamoDB technologies.
• 2+ years orchestrating large-scale distributed microservice deployments on Kubernetes and EC2.
• 2+ years building and managing EKS clusters with strong Kubernetes ecosystem knowledge.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK/OpenSearch, PagerDuty, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to architect, troubleshoot, optimize, and secure complex distributed systems, including message queues and service meshes.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing Istio or Linkerd.
• Production experience with RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka clusters.
• Tooling and automation experience with Go, Python, Bash, or TypeScript.
