Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Hybrid in the Boston office; remote work is also considered elsewhere in the United States.

Salary: $129,000–$162,000 for Software Engineer I; $152,000–$190,000 for Software Engineer II.

What you will do

• Partner with computational chemists and machine learning researchers to translate research needs into reliable software.
• Build and maintain Python applications, libraries, APIs, and command-line tools.
• Develop workflows for computational drug discovery workloads.
• Improve orchestration, monitoring, and recovery for workloads running on AWS, Modal, and Lambda.
• Integrate scientific applications with shared data, compute, and model services.
• Contribute to design, testing, code review, deployment, troubleshooting, documentation, and production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and 5+ years of software development experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong Python skills and experience writing clear, tested, maintainable production code.
• Experience running scientific or batch workloads on AWS.
• Experience with Prefect or another workflow orchestration system.
• Familiarity with computational chemistry workloads such as molecular dynamics or docking.
• Familiarity with the machine learning model lifecycle, strong communication skills, and a service-oriented approach.
