Software Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and build distributed systems for high-throughput data review and annotation pipelines.
• Develop backend systems that remain performant and reliable under real-world load.
• Implement fine-grained access control, secure data handling, and auditable workflows.
• Translate product, ML, and operations requirements into clean APIs and backend abstractions.
• Collaborate across product, ML, and operations to improve efficiency and machine-learning feedback loops.
• Participate in design reviews, architectural decisions, code reviews, and development of tested, maintainable software.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of backend engineering experience.
• Experience building and maintaining production distributed systems.
• Operational experience with observability, alerting, and failure recovery.
• Working knowledge of security principles, including least privilege and secure transport and storage.
• Ability to turn well-scoped requirements into solid designs and interfaces while clarifying ambiguity.
• Collaborative approach to feedback and close teamwork.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with human-in-the-loop systems, labeling tools, or ML data pipelines.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
