Director of Underwriting (Contract Surety)

Location: Remote - Pennsylvania

Salary: $200,000 annual

What you will do

• Underwrite contract surety bonds and assess risk acceptability.
• Manage daily bid and final bond requests with timely and accurate processing.
• Review contract bond and account submissions for completeness and policy compliance.
• Analyze annual accounting audits and internal financial statements to oversee account fiscal status.
• Build agency relationships, meet with surety companies, visit accounts, and secure new surety partnerships.
• Oversee, train, and develop internal underwriters while driving premium production growth.

Requirements

• Experience underwriting contract surety bonds and assessing account risk.
• Ability to analyze accounting audits and internal financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of the surety market and client-focused business development skills.
• Experience managing, training, and developing underwriting employees.
• Must be located in Pennsylvania for this remote role.
