Director, Payment Platform Strategy (Fintech)

Location: US — Foster City, California; hybrid setup with at least 3 days in the office, as confirmed by the Hiring Manager. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $203,800–$326,100 USD per year; the range may include potential sales incentive payments. Bonus and equity may also be available.

What you will do

• Own and evolve strategy for domestic processing, localization, and sovereignty across hirify.global’s platform portfolio.
• Define platform offerings, deployment models, and operating approaches with regional, market, and corporate strategy teams.
• Align hirify.globalNet and OVN roadmaps, modernization plans, and client migration approaches for domestic and regional processing.
• Manage regional demand, work in flight, backlog, investment priorities, capacity tradeoffs, and monthly regional reviews.
• Improve intake, handoffs, prioritization, decision-making, platform reuse, and adoption of agentic ways of working.
• Build alignment across product, technology, strategy, risk, compliance, release management, delivery, hirify.globalNet, OVN, and regional teams; provide executive-ready views of priorities, dependencies, and tradeoffs.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 8 years with an Advanced Degree such as a Master’s, MBA, JD, or MD, or at least 3 years with a PhD.
• Deep familiarity with payment systems, including card networks, ACH, and real-time payments.
• Experience shaping strategy or roadmaps for platform products used by multiple internal and external stakeholders across regions.
• Experience working across two or more platforms or product lines to build a shared roadmap and manage dependencies.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into clear choices and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn client, market, and technology inputs into prioritization recommendations.
• Experience structuring complex cross-functional decision-making involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and platform dependencies.
• Direct, plainspoken written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Ability to operate comfortably in ambiguous, cross-functional, global environments.

Nice to have

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 8–10 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6 or more years with a PhD.
• Direct hirify.globalNet or comparable network platform experience.
• Experience with payment platform modernization, localization, sovereignty, or regional and domestic processing initiatives.
