Histology Line Supervisor (Clinical Laboratory)

Location: Onsite positions at laboratory locations in Baltimore, Burlington, Boston, Shelton, and Durham, United States. Primary assignment: Ascension Saint Agnes in Baltimore, Maryland. Shift 3, Monday–Friday, 3:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; hours may vary based on departmental needs.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Supervise daily operations of the Histology Department and monitor laboratory workflow.
• Ensure accurate, timely testing and adequate staffing and assay coverage across shifts.
• Train, mentor, coach, and provide feedback to laboratory personnel.
• Research and resolve production errors and implement process and service-level improvements.
• Maintain equipment quality control, quality assurance records, policies, and procedures.
• Perform bench work as needed while maintaining technical proficiency and competency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• At least 6 years of experience as a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist.
• At least 1 year of experience supervising or leading a team.
• Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, relevant state regulations, laboratory operations, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test and handle the physical requirements of the position.

Nice to have

• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Non-traditional degree with applicable science credits meeting CLIA education standards may be considered in lieu of the listed education requirements.
