What you will do

• Lead daily histology operations, including FFPE reembedding, sectioning, H&E staining, and tissue processing.
• Set workflow standards, troubleshoot complex histology issues, and lead root-cause investigations.
• Ensure high-quality tissue sections for H&E, immunostaining, and spatial transcriptomics assays.
• Partner with downstream assay, pathology, engineering, and biosample operations teams.
• Evaluate equipment, consumables, technologies, workflows, and automation for scaled operations.
• Manage, mentor, train, and develop the histology team while promoting continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, histotechnology, or a related field.
• Extensive hands-on histology experience, including FFPE tissue preparation and sectioning.
• Expertise sectioning a broad range of human tissue types, including challenging specimens.
• Strong knowledge of histology workflows and artifacts, including tissue microarrays, with complex troubleshooting ability.
• Experience managing a histology team and high-throughput laboratory workflows, priorities, capacity, and laboratory information management systems.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, and continuous-improvement skills.
