Field Service Engineer, Western (Blythe, CA)

Location: Remote and field-based within the Blythe, CA area; must reside within reasonable commuting distance of Blythe or be willing to relocate there. Significant domestic and possible international travel is required.

Salary: $33.00–$35.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and analysis of SMA utility inverters through remote support, telephone, email, and site visits.
• Develop detailed knowledge of SMA utility inverters, accessories, and compatible third-party equipment.
• Perform and maintain site maintenance activities according to product maintenance manuals and customer contracts.
• Work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and inverter software and firmware.
• Maintain accurate spare-parts inventories and help reduce field-service costs while supporting customer satisfaction.
• Provide regional service support, including occasional nonstandard hours and schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is strongly preferred, or equivalent renewables-industry experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications work.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, OPT, CPT, or TN sponsorship; temporary or visa-tied employment authorization is not accepted.
• Must live within commuting distance of Blythe, California, or be willing to relocate there.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively, work in field environments, travel, and routinely lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience in the renewable energy industry.
