Head of Finance (Retail/Ecommerce)

Location: Crewe, Cheshire, United Kingdom; hybrid working

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum plus benefits and bonus

Growing multi-discipline group operating in a commercially focused environment, preparing for a transaction in the next three to four years.

What you will do

• Own financial reporting, performance management, and the financial control environment.
• Deliver commercial analysis and actionable insight to support business decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Analyse profitability drivers and operational performance across sales channels, gross margin, logistics costs, marketing ROI, customer acquisition costs, and inventory.
• Partner with senior stakeholders and provide financial insight to support growth.
• Manage and develop the Finance Manager and oversee the financial requirements of a German subsidiary.

Requirements

• Experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Commercial Finance Manager, or in a similar role.
• Strong commercial analysis and business partnering experience.
• Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial control.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Analytical, commercially minded, and confident challenging assumptions while operating at senior stakeholder level.
• Ability to work hands-on across a growing SME and engage with detailed financial analysis.

Nice to have

• Retail or ecommerce experience.
• Professional services experience in transaction services or mergers and acquisitions, with an interest in moving into industry.
