Lead Business Analyst (Investment Technology - Equity)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland; hybrid work with up to three days per week from home. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $122,000–$209,000 annually for Maryland, Colorado, Washington, and remote workers. Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead business analysis for Investments Technology initiatives supporting equity research, portfolio management, trading, analytics, and front-office workflows.
• Partner with portfolio managers, analysts, traders, product owners, engineers, architects, data teams, and technology leaders to define practical technology outcomes.
• Lead discovery, requirements elicitation, process analysis, data analysis, and solution definition for complex equity technology initiatives.
• Translate investment needs into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Drive Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritization, UAT coordination, release readiness, and post-implementation support.
• Identify responsible AI, automation, data-quality, workflow, and decision-support improvements, while communicating priorities, risks, and tradeoffs to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

• Typically 8+ years of experience in business analysis, product analysis, investment technology, financial services technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of equity investment workflows, including research, portfolio construction, trading, analytics, market data, portfolio data, and front-office processes.
• Experience partnering with product owners, engineers, architects, data teams, QA, and technology leadership.
• Strong Agile delivery experience with Scrum or Kanban, backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, dependency management, demos, UAT, and release readiness.
• Working knowledge of AI, generative AI, automation, analytics, or intelligent workflows, with strong analytical and stakeholder-alignment skills.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, SQL, data analysis, investment data, market data, or reporting is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in equity, investment management, asset management, capital markets, wealth management, or other front-office financial services technology environments.
