Sr Network/Systems Engineer Data Center

Location: Hampton, Virginia, United States; fully onsite

Salary: $230,000–$240,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end data center migration strategies, including consolidations and on-premises or cloud-adjacent transitions.
• Assess infrastructure dependencies, risks, workloads, and capacity to create migration roadmaps and execution plans.
• Design target-state architectures covering compute, storage, networking, virtualization, security, and cloud integration.
• Coordinate migration execution, cutover planning, validation, post-migration optimization, and disaster recovery activities.
• Establish architecture standards, procedures, documentation, runbooks, and operational handoff materials.
• Provide technical leadership, customer support, mentorship, and guidance to engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• Deep expertise in data center infrastructure, networking, storage architectures, virtualization platforms, and hybrid or cloud-adjacent environments.
• Experience with large-scale migrations, dependency mapping, workload analysis, capacity planning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of security frameworks, compliance requirements, risk mitigation, routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, or CND.

• Experience with DoD networks, including NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS.
• Experience leading technical teams and providing mentorship.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
